The Disappearance of Kin Keiko
Update: Kin is back baby!! Check it :D.I'm not one to blog or post much in the forums when I'm not happy with Linden Lab, but this calls for it. About a week ago I searched for Kin Keiko so I could check her shop for new hairstyles but nothing showed up. Usually when that happens the person has either been banned or they've chosen to leave and wipe the account. I immediately felt panic because if you know anything about Kin, you know she makes some of the most unique and high quality hair in Second Life. I was able to find her store still but I knew something was wrong, I was right. Yesterday on PXP this article showed up from Canimal Zephyr. I was shocked and very sad to find out this happened to Kin. To create such wonderful things and then have the money you worked hard for kept from you, I just can't imagine.
I didn't know Kin very well but I know as a creator she kicked all kinds of ass. If you'd like to show your support for Kin, you can im Dazzo Street in world and ask to sign the petition and elka Lehane has made a t-shirt you can purchase for L$1. Neil Protagonist has closed Nakama for a day to show support for Kin and to ask LL to bring her back.
Whatever happens, if Kin is unable to return she will be missed more than she knows. I'm so glad I purchased her hair when I had the chance and it makes me sad to know I may not ever have the chance to again. BRING BACK KIN!!

Seriously. I'm glad I bought almost her entire store.
FREE KIN KEIKO!
Sad story. If it's actually true :)
It's true.
Toni Bentham and I are working on an article for next week's Metaverse messenger on this. We interviewed Kin last night (she IS getting her money at least, thankfully) and we're also trying to get a statement from the Lindens. Apparently there is a Linden looking at her case, but we were referred to Robin anyway.
I've told Kin about all the support for her in world, on PXP, in the forums, and she's overwhelmed. She thought people would just forget, but because she was so creative, so productive, so valued and so PLEASANT to deal with, she's become a bit of a "Poster Girl" for the possible injustices that blanket banning can incur, such as in this case where her and her brother had both used their parents' CC for their Second Life account-- something I would have done myself if I hadn't been able to get my Student Visa, so I understand into not just an "OMG underage" problem.
Err, long... >_> Anyway yes. Hopefully they haven't completely obliterated every trace of Kin, it would be a shame if she had to start from scratch. If she even gets to come back...
I'm really glad to hear she's getting her money at the very least, I'll definitely check the article out when it's in the MM!
